The term "half-staff" means the position of the flag when it is one-half the distance between the top and bottom of the staff. The flag, when flown at half-staff, should be first hoisted to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff position. The flag should be again raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day. |
Would you like to receive notification any time the flags are directed be lowered to half-staff? The Arizona Department of Administration maintains an email distribution list and upon request, your name can be added to the distribution list. Send your request to Debby.Dominguez@azdoa.gov. Make sure to include your first and last name, email address, contact phone number, and organizational affiliation (if any).
