Governor Brewer established the Task Force on Human Trafficking in April 2013. The purpose of the Task Force is to identify opportunities to strengthen Arizona statutes, administrative practice, and law enforcement training around human trafficking issues. The goal is to reduce human trafficking and assist victims of this heinous crime. The Task Force must submit a summary of its findings and final recommendations to the Governor by September 30, 2013.
“I am delighted that Governor Brewer has named me a co-chair of the Governor’s Task Force on Human Trafficking. The creation of this task force is a testament to Governor Brewer’s commitment against trafficking in Arizona. I have travelled internationally working on anti-trafficking and am anxious to make a difference in my home state. I look forward to working with each of you toward positive change and ending human trafficking in Arizona.”
